Jack of all trades

This past year, while working as the Photo Editor for Sooner Yearbook, I finally got to fulfill my goal of writing a feature story for the book. I was overjoyed to write this piece! Obviously, my passion for college basketball is pretty well-known by most, so when they told me the previous writer assigned to this story quit, I jumped at the opportunity to write it. I was a bit nervous because I hadn't truly written a news story since high school when I wrote for the Catch-It-Kansas high school sports website. But I have keeping pace with my blog and writing about sports, thus, I was merely a bit rusty. However, I basically live the story, so it was easy to write about the growth of the men's basketball student section.

The fact that I got to interview Coach Lon Kruger and Big 12 Player of the Year, Buddy Hield, who is also my favorite player, was essentially a dream come true. You could say I was giddy with excitement on the way to interview them. I'm a full on college basketball nerd. All in all, the feature turned out great and the praise I received for it gave me confidence in it!

Additionally, I got to design all the sports spreads, while we were scrambling to finish everything the last week after school ended before we sent the book out. It was cool being able to contribute to the book in all the areas: print, photo and design!

Screen prints for sale

Over the course of two semesters, I produced many screen prints for class. I have many edition sets and therefore I find myself with multiple copies of the same print, which I do not need. Thus, I am looking to sell these. They make wonderful gifts and great wall decorations. If you have any interest please email me at madster2241@yahoo.com! The photos of them are not the best, as I was in a rush and they were with my phone. The typography pieces are hand-lettered and are available on both white and black paper.
